Wheat beer woes

Hello. I had six 500cl bottles of Paulaner wheat beer over about 3.5 hours and felt like I had been poisoned the next day (though not until about eighteen hours later). I really don't think it was the alcohol content as I strive to avoid a hangover by not drinking too much in the first place, so could it have been the yeast and/or gluten. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I visit germany several times a year and drink that volume of wheat beer and a fair bit more over an evening and rarely feel a hangover like I do in England. I don't think it's the beer that's done it, unless you have some kind of intolerance?

Me and two friends got taunted on Paulenar a couple of years back when it was on a twoferone deal.

All three of us had the hangovers form hell the next day.

On the whale German beers are more forgiving the next day in my experience, but none of us have ever gone near a bottle of Paulener again!
