hello

I am a local glass designer maker who regularly takes part in the Artist's Open House events every May.

Come to have an intro into the fabulous world of fused glass. I am offering 1-to-1 sessions in my lovely garden shed at a special price of ?45 for 2 hrs. You won't need any previous experience as we will work with pre cut coloured glass for you to make a dish or hanging panel, which I will then fire in the kiln. You can then have your own personal art piece to take home! Tea & Coffee always on the go too!I am based in ED

please PM for more info and to book. Currently taking more bookings for the summer time.I just have limited availability

    • I remember Jones and Higgins in the 60s when I was a teenager.  It seemed to me at the time to be a very upmarket department store.  Rye Lane also has 2 C&As, M&S, British Home Stores, Woolworths, Dunn's hat shop, umpteen shoe shops and furniture stores.  We brought our first 3 piece suite and bedroom suite in Williams furniture store in the late 60s when Rye Lane was a thriving shopping centre.
    • If you have problems with damp I can recommend JKA Damp Proofing and Plastering. It is run by Jonathan ( tel: 0208 859 1501/07713 187226) who carries out all the work himself with no subcontracting. We had two areas of damp and he promptly diagnosed the causes, rapidly gave us an estimate and then carried out the work with outmost professionalism. He was punctual, reliable and explained every step of his work. He looked after our fixtures and fittings carefully and cleaned up very well at the end of the work. I wholeheartedly recommended him.
    • The Thai Corner Cafe  in North Cross Road still is cash only! I didn't think rotisserie chicken places still existed 😮
