English is 2 GCSEs plus Maths plus Science is 2 or 3 GCSEs plus 4 choices

So that?s 9 or 10

Why would you want to do more? Another school forced my eldest into taking 14 for no reason that benefitted him that I could see.

GCSEs are increasing in difficulty since they all became linear

When I was at school, in the dark ages, we used to take 6 or 8

There is potential to do 3 GCSEs in Science and 3 in Maths (Maths, Stats and Additional maths) so that's 6 for a start (I do not know about the Charter school though)...some are done in year 10. BUT to get a decent A level A/A* grades are needed in the GCSE....some schools are happy for the student to get a C grade....and will enter them early...does not do the future of the student any good especially since Universities will look at GCSE attainments...

No longer true I?m afraid, grades are 0-9 and they are all linear so I don?t believe you can take any early. All have to be at end of 2 Year course so unless they start some in year 9 this won?t happen. I?m not sure if taken early they get included in national tables

That are certainly harder

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
