Hello, my sister is coming up from Bristol to run the marathon. Her start time is 9am so she wants to be there at 8am. We are in West Dulwich but can drive to East Dulwich station to catch a train, but does anyone know a great route to get there? If you are running please could you let us know how you intend getting there, by car, train or bus?!! Many thanks, any help much appreciated!! We are very new to this.

When I did it Mr Pickle dropped me and my friends at the Blackheath end of Belmont Hill, and it was then just a short walk to the Heath. Could be an option if you're planning on driving anyway?

Wish her luck! I loved every minute of it, the atmosphere is amazing.

Train isn't better if a lift's an option. Pickle is right that you can get right up to the start if you approach from Blackheath. Red Start (charity runners) is from Greenwich Park, but the others are on the Heath. Traffic is fine, or was last year.

Presumably she's an elite woman if she starts at 9? Main race is 945.

    • Obviously the council has a time machine 🤣 Must have paid for it with all the money they make from the CPZ revenue generating machine 😉
    • Another recommendation for Hussein and team who have just painted the entire interior of our house. The end result looks great and the team were hardworking and polite, getting it all done in a tight timeframe. They were also careful to protect everything which hasn’t always been my experience with other decorators! The communication with Hussein was clear throughout. Highly recommend and would definitely use again!
    • It's not three days out of 365 - it's almost three weeks of putting up and taking down in which the residents on the west side of Peckham Rye can barely access the park. And then GALA leaves the area in an appalling state, ruining everyone's enjoyment for the rest of the summer.
    • Must say, they have done a thorough looking job of repairing the damage done to the park. I'm mildly antipathetic to the Gala Festival. But it has been better organised this year.
