Hi,

I have recently been receiving text message from a courier company arranging delivery of a SIM which I never ordered. I spoke to my cell provider and they have moved this matter to their fraud department and I should hear in 7 days. I asked for a confirmation e mail to be sent to me and have received nothing! Despite calling twice on the following day and being placed on hold as I asked to speak to a supervisor. You can?t complain on web site as site is down. They were suppose to have cancelled this bogus new contract but haven?t. I cannot cancel my old contract and leave so they tell me because of all this. I suppose it makes sense. I have never had this sort of thing happen to me before and certainly have zero faith or comfort with my cell provider. Do I need to report this to the police or do they? Would be grateful for any advice - hindsight is a wonderful thing, a week ago the lock to my side gate was forced - didn?t bother to report it as nothing was taken - now this happens, so take note.

I would definitely report this to the police - in particular there is a known scam whereby criminals divert bank calls and text messages using a new SIM, so if your side gate was forced and post like a bank account statement was taken, this could be connected. As it's all be reported to the fraud team, you should be protected against that now, but if your mobile stops working for any reason be prepared to get in touch with your bank.

    • That is such a shame. I do hope the council finds the money to replace it.
    • Yes I'm really disappointed. It's not even been there that long so can't have been well built/maintained.
