Well let's hear them then! Much more entertaining (if not particularly helpful).

And as for The Knowledge, perhaps it might help to think of it not so much in terms of 'knowing all the streets' (a bit of an urban myth really) but more as an extended job interview undertaken by a variety of potential employers (in this case KoL examiners).

I doubt even the mighty Fred Housego (is he still going?) would, even in his prime, know off the top of his head, I don't know, Crebor Street (since we're on the East Dulwich Forum) for instance.

Yes, minicab drivers are now 'licensed' (in the loosest possible way) but I would question how much value to place on said licence.

    • When she was our MP before the boundaries changed, she was always really helpful and quick to reply to emails, so I'm very surprised to hear this. Have you tried other sources of help eg Citizens Advice Bureau or whatever union you were in when you were working (assuming you were in one)?

    • Another positive recommendation for Jan and co from Silver Fern We had removed trees that were uprooting the brick pavement. Jan and co successfully removed the roots under the brick pavement and levelled the driveway off using the original bricks. Work done to a high standard and no mess no fuss with the work. Quote was excellent value and work done in under 2 days. Neighbours have booked him for some other work. Really nice guy and friendly workers throughout. Toilet and tea breaks provided by the residents here. Thanks Jan and co.
