Hotel recommendation, please?

My husband and I are planning to go away overnight and leave our little one for one night in June. We would like to go somewhere within a 2 hr drive distance so that we can maximise time together.

Can anyone recommend any nice boutique hotels/b&b 's/spa's? It's for an anniversary so we are happy to spend a little extra for smthing special.

We like it here, afternoon tea, lovely rooms, fantastic grounds, spa etc etc. About 40 miles away - an hour and quarter.

How about Malmaison Oxford? It's an old prison converted into a luxury hotel. Very nice.

Am a fan of Hotel du Vin hotels too. Winchester or Henley are within 2 hrs drive I think.

Amberley Castle is fantastic. It's in West Sussex so should be within 2 hours or so from East Dulwich.

The food is amazing and for a really intimate dinner you can hire the treehouse just for two (as long as the weather is ok!) Amberley Castle

Just come back from a night away at The George in Rye...East Sussex - 1 hr 45 mins from Dulwich. Very lovely boutique hotel in the middle of Rye, lovely old little town with a Castle and not far from the beach at Camber sands.

There isn't a Spa as such but we booked an in room massage which was great. Also had dinner at the restaurant which was lovely..and they don't have that two night minimum booking at the weekend policy.
