ptangyang
hello allhaving just moved to the area, i've found this forum to be a wonderful resource for all kinds of reasons - so first of all thanks! anyhow, i wonder if people have come across the collaborative consumption movement: http://collaborativeconsumption.com/essentially its a scheme that lets you borrow stuff from neighbours so you don't need to go out and buy that thing you'll only use once yourself. how many times has that drill been used? lawn mower? text book? bike? etc etc. people post what they would like to borrow, and those happy to lend respond. of course it requires a good degree of trust etc, but hopefully that could be sorted between the 2 parties (deposit if required etc).do you think its an idea that could work here in this forum community? Clare11
Sounds the same as ecomodo. A website for borrowing, lending and renting items to others. If you need to borrow something - put it in the 'wanted' section and you will usually get someone willing to lend it to you. ptangyang
ok thanks, good to know. i did try but no luck yet. i've come across various sites but not ecomo, will check it out. the reason i thought it would work well here is that we are all already geographically well located, not sure if thats the case with the other schemes. Alec John Moore
You could try streetbank.com there are a few East Dulwich people on there. It does need more "members" before it can really work. It's not the only site out there but you don't have to use it exclusively.Alec Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23172-collaborative-consumption/#findComment-540567 Share on other sites
Peckhamgatecrasher
It's not a catchy title is it? Sounds like you are advocating mass TB. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23172-collaborative-consumption/#findComment-540631 Share on other sites
