DulwichFox
I used to take my used cooking OIL to Devon Street in 5 ltr Plastic bottles with Secure screw caps. I have now scrapped my car and can no longer take the used oil to the dump. I now have 3-4 such plastic bottles in my back yard. Can these bottles be collected with the usual collection facilities. ?? KidKruger
Perhaps see if someone is going to dump and can collect them for you in next couple of weeks ? peckham_ryu
Can?t it just go in the general waste bin? That?s where I always dispose of mine (in sealed containers). I haven?t seen it on the list of things that aren?t allowed in general waste. Thought about that but concerned I might pay someone to take it away and they just pour it down the drain. Penguin68
Academic papers (see two attached) suggest that the inclusion of fats (including solids) in anaerobic digestion (the go-to method for disposal of kitchen waste, though not yet adopted by Veolia) is hugely beneficial to the process.http://iicbe.org/upload/9428C0315120.pdfhttps://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/4ffe/4817756121ddf4a2539e5656c638ff503ac9.pdfYou should avoid oils in domestic compost however (so if you compost kitchen waste, don't include oils and fats).Veolia composts organic waste, but it doesn't like oils, liquids and fatshttps://www.veolia.co.uk/westberkshire/waste-services/food-and-green-waste-collection-service/what-can-be-recycled-food-waste-collection Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/232132-used-cooking-oil-disposal/#findComment-1356088 Share on other sites
