The southwark "we are the liberal and true English mafia" council leadership has just annnounced that as there are no vote winners living in the Aylesbury estate they will not be able to go ahead with the regeneration for at least another few years ! (see Nunhead Regeneration as example 7 years and not so much as a bendy lamp post). To get over any accusations of near criminal bias they will blame central government and make out they would have to cut public services in the borough to pay for the estates regeneration. This could mean that Dulwich park lake would not get it's water filtered through hand reared and free range spatchcock spliens , that welsh cobblestones may not get layed up Northcross Road and that the brand new fence in goose green may not get ripped up and replaced with organic briars and morris men directing pedestrians.

The fact that they spent 5.5 million this year on council adverts, the highest in the country, apparently is not an issue. I wanted to add something about the Leader of the southwark and East Dulwich council, Mr Nick Stanton, but actually cannot find within me the words that I should type

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
