You may have heard about the Southwark News free ticket offer but I wanted to post on here so as many Southwark residents took up the tickets as possible, especially people who might enjoy the game or who have never been to the Oval before.

I have a vested interest, just so I am up front about it, as I work for the paper but it really is a great offer. I took up my tickets and cricket is a great day out and we have one of the best venues in the world on our doorstep.

Anyway the paper has 2,000 tickets for this Fridays game at the Oval and they are FREE.

Just follow below and lets hope the sun is out for the game. Incidentally it is a day/night game starting at 3.40pm so come along for the second innings after work if you can't make the whole game. Max of two tickets per application.

Anyway here are the instructions and enjoy. See you at a game soon.

1.Go 2 http://kiaoval.com 2. Go 2 'Buy tickets', click 'CB40' 3. Pick Somerset game & use 'News' code.

Thanks for your time and I hope you don't mind me using your forum, but its a good offer for Southwark residents. No idea how many have gone but try it if you are interested.

If you go to the stage I've pasted in below and enter your login, it should lead you through to the big green diagram of the ground. If you click on that it should lead you through to the 'enter code' stage.

I did it half an hour ago and it worked for me.

Thanks David, but when I log in I get this screen:

Membership Code

I've done this too (booked free ticket I mean)

- PGC - I'm presuming you went through all the 'Create Account stuff and registered your email and a password so...

When you get the options of filling in your email and password with the lines underneath saying:

'activate account' (and under that Forgot Password?) - that's only for those who are already Surrey CCC members not those who have just registered email and password to get these tickets (hence the M number) so don't press that button - just press the LOGIN > box which is underneath.

hope this helps.

Thanks for this, Peckhamoldboy. Husband and 7 year old daughter have just come back from the Oval. She'd taken her DS, prepared to be bored, but had a great time. We wouldn't have bothered with a limited overs game if it hadn't been for the free tickets but it was the perfect introduction to the game. Yay! Another cricket fan in the family. My turn next time.

    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
    • It was my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn was embarrassed by his brother and had distanced himself from his brother's views. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Why on earth should "the overall view of that family inform Jeremy's response to the pandemic"? What exactly are you basing that assumption on?
    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
