That's a beauty. Love the floating staircase and the mid-century carpets.

I like it, but I can't work out whether the period style has been lovingly maintained, or if they just moved in during the 60s, never bothered doing any renovations and stayed their whole lives. I suspect the latter, as some of the built-in furniture looks knackered, and there's no way any sane person below the age of 80 could really live with that kitchen or bathroom.

Regardless, it's sitting on a v large plot of land for London, and I suspect that's why they're asking 2 million.

Size and location. It's an eyesore from the front but it's a mansion by ED standards.

Not sure about that... it's only 1580 sq ft. Some local terraced houses are a similar size after the usual extensions. It's different because it's detached and has a v large garden.

In fact I wonder if it's priced with a view to a developer knocking it down.

Yes it's the size of the land that really matters. The garden is enormous.

The owner who died last year was well into his 9O's and I guess he may well have been the first occupant. It must have been cutting edge design when it was built however the rooms are small and the windows are really pokey.

It is semi-detached which detracts from its value but (as a hobbyist and handyman) what I really like is the 35 foot garage. What couldn't one do with a space like that! Enough for both a car and a full blown workshop.

    • They're obviously not competent to witness the documents in the OP's case.  The list of required qualifications looks me similar to the Land Registry's requirement connected with a TR1. Vladi, from my own experience I'd not rely on email inquiries of potentials.   The response I got an email to the solicitors in Melbourne Grove was from another of their branches and was inconsequential.  From William Bailey, addressed to reception and saying I could drop in at very short notice, I'm afraid I got no response  at all, even after also mentioning that  I'd be looking for assistance with a will in the near future and expected to be asking them.  From an online search i did note quite a few in the Camberwell area.  In the end though I was able to rely on an online verification, arranged by one of the other parties.
    • Hard to get evidence for what has happened, but going forward, get cctv evidence of trespass and any interference, ask you other neighbours to as well. Contact solicitor and report to police and council. get more plants to replace those destroyed
    • Thank you, finding out they'd done the same to three of my neighbor’s trees made it a bit easier to accept — it wasn’t just me they were targeting; they’re just toxic people in general.
    • I have no advice for you, but I'm sorry you're going through this. It's highly distressing and I just can't fathom why some people are so horrible.
