I read plenty of bad reviews on here about NHS GP surgeries. Are there any good ones that serve SE15/SE22 area?

Extra points if the practice is known to managed chronic health/ pain conditions well. And bonus points if the practice (or particular GP) also works well alongside specialists within private practice. I say this because, in my experience, it can be frustratingly difficult to get NHS and private medical professionals to communicate with each other!

Not sure, but if you care to look up the various GPs and check what their 'speciality' is then that may be a way forward

I've been with the Forest Hill Road practice for over 40 years and couldn't have been happier with the service and care we've received. I've seen posts on here complaining about the wait for appointments but if you NEED to be seen urgently, they will always fit you in. My husband and I both have chronic conditions, and are always able to get appointments when we need them either booking ahead for routine consultations, or on the day if it's urgent. About a month ago, I rang the surgery for advice in the middle of the afternoon; a GP rang me back within 20 minutes, and gave me an appointment 20 minutes later, so I was seen in less than an hour from my first phone call. There has been quite a change in staff over the last couple of years, but the new doctors, as well as those who have been there for a while, all seem to be excellent.

Thanks all for your input

The Gardens and Forest Hill rd are outside the catchment area unfortunately.

Looks like I need one that serves SE15..... which 306 Medical Centre does, thank-you gumshoe. Good to know about repeat prescriptions

The DMC Surgery In Chadwick Road services SE15 but I do not have any experience with them. Melbourne Grove does too, and they are taking over the new medical centre at Dulwich Hospital combined with the Hambledon Medical Practice. Hopefully MGMP will improve.
Hey, I hope you're well. I'm sorry for the out of the blue message. I'm an Assistant Producer at a TV production company called TwoFour and we are producing a new series offering people the chance to see experts, possible treatment and to have a chat about their skin conditions. If you'd be interested in applying please email [email protected] or if you'd like to have a phone chat before applying let me know and I?ll give you a ring to fill you in. Additionally, if you have any friends or family who may be interested please help us spread the word. Thanks so much. Katie x

    • It's usually a combination of "nearly Halloween", "nearly Bonfire Night", "weekend" and "dickheads". You can adjust the sliding scale on each of those factors most nights for the next 3-4 weeks.

    • I got this  interesting email today. At least some (albeit apparently very few) shoplifters seem to have been arrested, though I wonder what the criteria were. Obviously that is only the ones arrested as a result of this particular initiative. Met Engage Logo Joint Partnership Success – Operation Roscoea, Southwark We’re pleased to share the success of Operation Roscoea, a joint partnership anti-social behaviour (ASB) initiative carried out in Southwark last week. This multi-agency operation saw eight partner representatives from six support organisations conducting outreach patrols alongside officers from our Trust, Confidence and Engagement Team. These joint efforts led to numerous new referrals into support services, ensuring vulnerable individuals are connected with the help they need. Neighbourhood policing teams also carried out joint patrols with Southwark Council wardens, who now hold newly designated enforcement powers. This enhanced collaboration has strengthened our collective ability to respond to ASB and community concerns. Operational highlights included: Six arrests made by officers from North Southwark Town Centre Team, St George’s, North Walworth, Faraday, Newington Ward, Chaucer, and the Proactive Crime Team: 2 for possession of a Section 5 firearm (CS spray) 1 for possession of Class A and B drugs 1 individual wanted for theft 2 for shoplifting ASB enforcement activity included: 2 Community Protection Notices issued to persistent offenders Numerous intelligence reports submitted to support ongoing investigations This operation is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our local officers and partner agencies. Thank you to everyone involved for your continued commitment to making Southwark safer and more resilient. We look forward to building on this momentum in future deployments.
