Help needed please!

My sister and her two children are visiting from out of town for the weekend - I don't have children and so I'm not very with it on great activities out locally.

I'm looking for something to do with them on Friday, preferably locally as we are going into town Sat and Sun. They are aged 10 and 11 - one girl and one boy. We are in Peckham - but Camberwell, Dulwich even out to Brixton all good! Doesn't need to be free.

We already have the crazy golf at the Horniman booked for Saturday morning.

This time last year we did a chocolate bar making workshop at the museum of Chocolate in Brixton - which I am still earning good Auntie-points for :-)

Thanks in advance

Tracy

My sisters kids loved hms Belfast at london bridge . I it's as local as Brixton I suppose . Difficult age to pitch things to though . Too young for some things and two old for others ! Always found the most exciting things for visitors is going out in that there london

Thanks! Funnily enough somebody suggested a treasure hunt that includes HMS Belfast so I think that might work.

You re so right - it seems a funny age- it was so much easier when they were 5 and a trip to Peckham Rye was amazing :)

My suggestion is make the most of london .. go to hms belfast then get a clipper to Greenwich (.. get on the back of the boat) then mess around in greenwich for a bit then two buses home x I used to be the coolest uncle.. now they are 18 and 15 they think I'm a bit dull so make the most of it

10-11 is tricky... especially if you really want to stay local! Recumbent bikes in Dulwich park? Cinema? Pedalos in Crystal Palace? The swimming pool in Deptford is good for kids, they have wave machine and water slides. Or maybe the Brockwell Lido (but might be rammed this wknd). Go-karts in Bermondsey?

If willing to go further afield (or maybe for another time), check out Clip n Climb.

    • I give away a lot of cuttings but always short of the above, any ideas please?
    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
