We have a number of special birthdays coming up in early 2020 - ranging from 4,16,21,34,47 and 70 years - all between 17th January and 2nd February. and I suggested a family weekend away.

Suggestion of Worthing as everyone can get there by either car or train. Will be either 8 or 9 adults and 2 children under 6. If only 8 adults - we would need 3 double/twin rooms plus a family room for 4. Would like a hotel or good B & B with breakfast as we plan to eat out in the evening.

If we are 9 would need a single room as well. Tried several hotels and B & B s for Sat 1st/Sun 2nd Feb but most places booked up or have limited rooms. Family rooms seem to cater for only one child (we will have a 4 year old and his almost 6 year old sister) Do not want to go for a Premier Inn or such as special occasion. Have even tried Butlins at Bognor but they do not appear to be open. Any suggestions/recommendations welcome. Needs to be within 2 hours car drive south of London, near a railway station (in case of bad weather also non drivers)Also within an hour or so drive from Goring on Sea, and rail/coach distance from Portsmouth.

have also looked at a couple of hotels in Arundel- again lack of availability in either dates or rooms.

Alternative suggestions? Due to work/school/university commitments we cannot do Friday - Monday so Self catering in currently not an option.

    • Nope that is boring,  I want something creative.  Maybe turn them into Xmas cards.  I understand from those daytime television programmes that don't involve buying houses, DIY, antiques, bargain hunting and the second World War that this is called 'upcycling'. AI suggests: Upcycling old cheque books can involve repurposing the paper from old checks into creative items like notebooks, journals, art pieces, gift tags, bookmarks, decorative paper, or even small boxes, by cutting, decorating, and assembling the paper to create new functional or decorative objects, while ensuring any personal banking information is properly obscured or removed.
