Hiya,

I am currently looking at pre-schools for my son who turns 2 in July. I have looked at a few and he is on the list for some but he won't start till he is 2 1/2 or 3+. What I am looking for in the mean time is a flexiable creche/playgroup where I could take him to drop him off for a few hours so he can play and socialise with other children and give me some time to do all the chores and other things that I don't get to finish because of having an active toddler!!

I am a stay at home mum so I am very felxible with times/days - I have heard of a place called Magic Moments which sounds perfect but the information I have is very sketchy - meant to be a creche/playgroup up near Dulwich Library but don't know much more about it. Does anyone know of this place and where exactly it is and how much the sessions/what times they run at all? I have a telephone number but it just seems to ring out?

Alternatively if you know of any other creche/playgroups that would be suitable it would be amazing to hear about them! I live just off LL so any in EastDulwich or DulwichVillage way would be fine.

Thanks for your help!

I have two numbers for Magic Moments:

020 8693 1177 (will only be answered during creche session times as it's the number for the room it's held in)

07837 335 620 (Lynda)

It's been nearly a year since we went there now, but we ran into the lovely Tessa and Anna at Beckenham Spa earlier and they were so chatty and lovely, my little girl was thrilled to have seen them.

    • Well I did say I stand to be corrected! Fair enough, their website only seemed to list three branches. Perhaps it's a franchise model?  It's known as 'agglomeration' in economics Rookie error.
    • I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
