Hi snowflake ...

What sort of price range are you looking at.. ??

Bearing in mind her age and that items like Mobile Phones and perhaps Cameras

are likely to get stolen by street robbers..

I would suggest something like Panasonic Lumix DMC-TX4... Great Picture qulity..

Review

I use Nikon SLR Cameras but have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TX4 which I carry when I am out and about.

There is a great range of prices for Cameras and if the lumix is out of your price range

I would suggest going to Currys PC World where the have a vast range of Pocket Cameras which

you can see and pick up and get a feel for...

I would go for a point and shoot by Samsung - more pixels for your pound - from ebay. If your daughter gets serious about it then she can upgrade but if she doesn't then it's not such a waste of money. The main thing is to get into taking pictures and seeing them on the screen, editing and manipulating them etc. So, access to a computer with a "user friendly" photo management programme is also important.

Looking forward to seeing some of the results of her efforts in due course.

Best wishes

Alec

Thank you for your suggestions i am some what clueless on the subject!

She has taken an interest in photography for a long time now, but I think now she at an age where I don't mind investing in a decent but reasonable priced camera.

Will definitely take a look!!

Thanks again guys!

Also worth trying Computer Exchange places - we got a lovely little Olympus for our daughter for ?25 - originally sold for about ?400. Allows you to get a better camera which is just slightly older, and you can look at them all and decide unlike Ebay. One on Walworth Road, or a couple along Tottenham Court Road around Goodge St station.

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
