Free Script Reading Group - Sunday Mornings

Longfieldhall

Recommended Posts

Sunday 15 September 11am to 1pm

Never been tempted to join a book group? Too much on in life to plough through a different novel each month? How about something with a little more play?

Join Longfield Hall?s script reading group and explore the world of play. We?ll read scripts out loud, playing different characters, directing and of course discussing over a cuppa!

For the first session we?ll take it easy with introductions and a few short plays to get us started! We then aim to meet once every two weeks, when a different member of the group will choose the play and ?direct? for each session, assigning the roles.

Led by Artistic Director of Longfield Hall, Laura Harling ? this is a group for everyone and anyone, all ages and abilities even if you?ve never acted at all, if you?re up for reading out loud and having loads of fun, this is the group for you! (Dramas, tragedies and comedy, we?ll explore them all)!

It?s totally free but we ask people to confirm attendance by registering via our website https://longfieldhall.org.uk/2019/08/28/script-reading-group/

    • Adding my recommendation for Niko too. Found his number on here and he came out at short notice on a busy weeknight to help us with a kitchen sink issue that had flooded our kitchen that day. Really helpful, responsive and went out of his way to fit us in and help us out. Very reasonably priced too - would thoroughly recommend!
    • Looks like it! Though according to the OP, they are "golden, hand-crimped parcels  packed with flavour" 😀 I don't understand. Admittedly my brain is functioning at a very low level at the moment. Does that mean various local shops get together and agree to offer a discount to anyone who shows them a receipt from one of the other ones dated the same day? I can't see what's in it for either of them, unless people shop somewhere they wouldn't otherwise have done just to get the discount. Is it for vaguely  linked things, say cheese from a cheese shop, wine from another shop? Showing my age there.  And then suppose it's always the same shop which people go to second to get the discount? What's in it for the first shop? People go there in order to get the discount in the second shop?
    • Local (especially independent) businesses should do like Wheelers Oyster Bar in Whitstable and offer a discount to anyone who can show them a receipt from Chacarero dated the same day.
    • Aria was great, he managed to come the same day after what had turned out to be a pretty long day at work and fix a really bad blocked pipe that needed to be resolved as soon as practicable. He’s lovely, professional and really helpful. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable plumber in the area. Thanks Aria!
