The Barclays Cash point seems to be targeted frequently. Not sure which machine it is.

I spoke to a rep at Barclays Lordship Lane yesterday.

Evidently Barclays Bank on Rye Lane is open on Saturdays as a safer option if you are out and about in Peckham.

Hi Mummali

I thought as much. I did think the new slots were tamper-proof.

I never use the machines on the street anymore.

I'm out and about on L.L. everyday and use the machines inside the bank.

Hope you were able to cancel your card before it was used by the scammers.

It can be a real hassle sorting these thing out.

Foxy.

Download the Barclays App

You can check all your Barclay Accounts and Barclay Card and add other accounts.

You can transfer money between accounts. Pay your Barclay Card

But best of all .. You can put a Temp block on your Debit card. Handy if you have mislaid it and think its lost.

Its also Very easy to use..

So - Peckham is now safe to draw out cash - pleased that you've changed your tune!

Yes cancelled the card immediately and yes there was someone hanging around, a little way away but he could easily see what was happening. He may have been just genuinely loitering with no ulterior motive, but I suspect not. Am wondering whether Barclays have cctv footage of that area, but can find out on Monday.

Nothing to do with it being Peckham.

Any opportunity to draw cash from Machine inside the bank is always going to be safer.

Cannot see such machines having devices fitted to them.

    • Strange isn’t it…..other European countries s actually come up with solutions to house homeless people, which are pod structure, use of office blocks, etc. homeless are provided with thermals, warm sleeping bag and tent or pop up tent plus tech friendly clothing which means they are warm in extreme conditions. Us in UK? Nothing but chuckinto house of multiple occupation, which is usually not warm and not all have mould, but some do.. live in one room even if you are a family with good only knows what other sort of people…  not referring to ethinicity here but more along the lines of mental health problems, drugs, alcoholics. Single and families all in one property. Or if you are one of the lucky ones, into a hotel you go…   Why don’t we as a nation claw back more money in the form of tax  or avoidance avoidance, off shore accounts or other ways that rich or investors do buck the system….
    • Hello! I’m considering buying the demise for the loft-space above my flat (facing the classic renovate or move scenario for an additional bedroom or 2). Has anyone had recent experience of buying the demise from Southwark? Interested to know how they’re handling the premium/valuation.  thanks!
