No comments about the level of idiocy of those who left masses of the beads in the park, but we've been trying to clear it up with a broom and a dustpan.

If anyone has a leaf blower that hoovers, can you please let me know if we can borrow it?

The stuff won't wash away in the rain and will be there until it either blows away or gets picked up bit by bit.

Better to contact the council's parks department... the contact details are on the noticeboard by the Christmas Tree on the East Dulwich Road side of the park.

I saw white stuff on the grass as I was passing by, but couldn't stop, so it's useful to know what it is...

Hi... apologies for being vague above, have been running around.

FYI, I called the council's 020 7525 2000 complaints line and logged the issue with them. They can't deal with it directly, but they can pass it on to the Parks team.

A quicker way to report it directly is to email:-

[email protected]

The more people who log complaints will help to speed up the response, so if you contact Parks in addition to my log at the 2000 number, then that's two of us!

The above email address is also the best way to report dog poo in Goose Green, as discussed on a previous thread. Goose Green is inspected regularly, but sometimes issues are missed unless the locations are specifically logged.

Let me know what happens!

Jules-and-Boo Great idea. I'll probably e walking past later this afternoon and will do.

Such a simple suggestion but the local area / wildlife will benefit. It sometimes seems we can make no impact but this shows how even a small act can have an impact.

FYI, J&B, I dropped in on the parks manager yesterday and told him about the polystyrene in Goose Green. Ironically, he did his last inspection on the 20th Sept, but your post didn't note the problem until the 25th. So, they have logged the issue and will try to get it resolved asap (depending on rainfall).

It also turns out that my 7525-2000 complaints line recorded reference never got passed onto the Parks team, so that avenue of communication is a red herring.

So, it sounds like the best way to report problems at Goose Green is definitely to email [email protected]

    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.

    • Petition Urge Israeli Government to stop law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners The UK Government must act urgently to urge the Israeli Government to stop the proposed law which would permit the execution of Palestinian Prisoners, past, present and future. More details We believe that such a law would constitute complete violation of the Geneva Convention and International Human Rights Law. UN experts have called for these proposals to be dropped. We call on the UK Government apply considerable and substantial political pressure and the leverage of its international obligations to prevent the Israeli Government from passing this law.
