Is it possible to transfer your iTunes from one laptop to another? I have almost 1000 songs on my iTunes which are on my mum's laptop that I would like to transfer to my own laptop. Anyone have a solution? Thank you..

Can't you just copy them onto a flash drive and then import into itunes on your laptop?

ok so just established that a flash drive is a USB stick. Didn't realise it was as easy as that but will give it a go.

Are they your own CDs loaded onto Itunes or tracks purchased from itunes. If it's the latter I'm not sure that you can just copy and shift them I think you have to do something with your Itunes account ie shift it to another machine.

Any of your music library that was downloaded from iTunes can be transferred in exactly the same way but when you try and play one of them for the first time it will say that your iTunes account is not authorised to play the downloaded song or video on the new computer. If you go to the store menu on the top of the iTunes window, there is an option to authorise the new computer and you can link up to five computers with one iTunes account.

Which is a lesson in why you should always buy mp3's.

Quids - it's a mixture of purchased music and uploaded CDs. Majority are from CDs however.

Lozellen thanks for advice..I use iTunes to synch with my ipod only. I will look into the store menu as suggested.

You could also Dropbox it (although you wouldn't be able to do 1000 songs at a time).
