Hi everyone,

My name is Zoe and I am a postgraduate student learning about infant and child development with the British Psychotherapy Foundation (in collaboration with University of London.)

As part of my course I'm required to find an expectant mother, with a due date between October 2019 and January 2020, who would feel comfortable allowing me to observe her and her baby in their natural home environment for one hour per week.

The purpose of the observation would be for me to learn first-hand about how a baby comes to relate to her or his surroundings over the first 18 months of their life. I would visit you at a regular time each week (with natural breaks for holidays etc.), and the only requirement would be that you (or another adult) is at home when I visit. Other than that, there would be absolutely no expectation that you do anything differently than usual.

The observation is an invaluable experience for students, and a core component in the training of child psychotherapists.

About me

I am a 27 year old woman living in Camberwell, and looking in the longer term to train as a child psychotherapist. I have worked with young people in charity settings for a number of years, and am currently working on a project improving mental health assessments for young people entering care.

If you live in London and would feel comfortable hearing more or asking any questions, please do get in touch - you can drop me a message or reach me directly on 07917341463. I live locally and would also be happy to travel to meet you. If you'd like more information from my University, I can put you in touch with my course administrator.

Many thanks for reading, and best wishes,

Zoe

    • Yes, we have a Casio CT-S100 we no longer need, except I dont think we have the headphones any more. It has a USB connection. £50? https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7333639
    • Thank you! She is both spayed and microchipped, and reported missing on Petlog and with the vets.   She normally never goes out the front, certainly for never more than 10-15 minutes, so this is definitely new territory for her. There is lots of dense foliage across the road so there are plenty of places she could be hiding if she is spooked, so we are hoping she will come back when she is calm. The weather isn't helping, she never goes out in the rain. Thank you again!
    • Hi, Have you been letting her out the front door onto the street or would this be a first & therefore unfamiliar with the area? Does she respond to a name & is she spayed & microchipped? Our team carry scanners on our daily routes & will of course be looking our for her. I hope you are reunited with her soon. If not already, notify your street & surrounding streets (find out if they have Whatsapp groups) Dox will print & deliver free missing posters https://www.doxdirect.com/help/free-missing-pet-posters/ Call her at dusk & dawn when street & foot traffic is at its lowest.
