Kes
Has anyone used these CD's? I had the pregnancy relaxation and birth preparation ones last time around and found the relaxation techniques really helpful in pregnancy and the earlier stages of labour, but ended up with an emergency c-section anyway. Not quite decided if it'll be VBAC or c-section this time, would quite like to use the CDs again but can't face being told repeatedly that I can give birth easily and naturally blah blah blah. I clearly can't, but I would like to be as calm and relaxed as possible whatever I choose.Failing that any other suggestions? I can't afford private one to one hypnotherapy, hence the CDs.Thanks! LazyDaisy
Hello KesHere's some information to help you research whether Daisy Birthing may suit you.* Our antenatal classes and workshops can help you understand, interpret and release birth anxiety *We explore 'active birth' yes, but also consider the role of hormones and mindset, so often attract mums to be who know they have to have a more managed or assisted delivery.* Education is delivered as you move, to create intuitive muscle memory - in labour your body will simply 'remember' whilst you focus on staying calm and in control*We provide a highly cost effective way to experience a birth hypnosis based programme *We are a programme designed by mums, taught by mums, aimed at mums! We can empathise, understand, provide suggestion and most importantly accept ALL birthing choicesIf you would like to know more please feel free to contact me: [email protected]Best WishesNadine Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23927-natal-hypnotherapy-cds-vbacc-setion/#findComment-552110 Share on other sites
Kes
Hi Nadine, Are these classes predominantly first time Mums?I'll be honest, I'm very sceptical that my body could "simply remember" however calm I was. So I doubt I could really get into the spirit of these classes, espcially if the majority of other Mums were doing it for the first time and so in a very different place to me. I'm really just looking for something nice and calming rather than "educational". I was fully prepared, calm, active birthing etc etc last time around, but it turns out that sometimes you just get unlucky and there was no way my big, back to back baby could make it out, other than surgically. Despite being told by several doctors that the C-section was unavoidable, the teacher of my ante-natal classes made it clear she thought I just hadn't tried hard enough/ wasn't calm and unafraid enough. Which was very upsetting and has really put me off ante-natal classes I'm afriad.Of course I don't know what you're classes are like but I thought I'd give you some feedback as your post does make it sound a little "if you're nice and clam it'll all be wonderful" and perhaps that isn't the case? Moos
I usd natal hyp. CD's for no.2, VBAC. Calming and pleasant and absolutely helped in early stages of labour. Lost it a bit once we got to hospital and got stuck for ages in the triage room, but I think I had lost the mental focus feeling I was in the wrong place. It helps if your birth partner can listen with you and practise exercises together you can repeat during labour. I am not at all woo-inclined, but found the mental exercises really useful, still do. Didn't do classes, just a cd.Happy to meet for coffee and discuss if helpful. Sadly haven't got the cd's any more, they went off to brig another baby into the world! LazyDaisy
Hi KesI do teach second time mums too and have had a third time mum in classes before. I enjoying teaching all mums to be not just those that have sailed though easy births because if someone who has had a tougher journey (including myself not once but twice ) can still say birth is positive and wonderful, what bigger confidence boost is there to new mums-to-be.Classes are not about planning for and aspiring too the ?perfect birth? but more so to stay in control and face the changes mother nature may bring to your journey. Our movements help with the physical changes that pregnancy brings, as well as common ailments and other aspects like helping baby into optimum position. During our relaxation segment there?s time purely for you and bump to bond ( how rare is it to get even 15 mins thats only about you ! ) especially true for second time mums. There are 101 reasons why mother nature may conspire against us on the day ? position of baby, cord length,. Cervical lip ? How my classes help is to empower mums to work with the hand they are dealt. Through classes we are not striving for natural and active birth, but for confident empowered birth journeys which allow ALL women to utilise micro moves and relaxation ?Hope that clarifies what I we do a little better.
