I've lost patience with my Kodak printer continually breaking down and would be grateful for advice for a new printer/scanner. Unfortunately an hour on the net has left my head spinning.

All I need is a printer for documents (PowerPoint etc) and to scan and save documents. it doesn't need to be photographic quality. Presumably I need inkjet rather than laser. I would like wireless facility and also to be able to print from iPad and iPhone. Perhaps also to put a USB key in as well and print off/save file. I don't really want to spend more than ?150.

Can someone please point me in the right direction - Dell, HP, Epson, Brother, Canon?

To print from ipad /iphone you can use AirPrint

To use AirPrint, you need one of the following devices running iOS 4.2 or later:

iPad

iPhone (3GS or later)

iPod touch (3rd generation or later

You will also need an AirPrint-enabled printer. See this article for a list of printers.

Thanks Dulwichfox.

I've been looking at some of the HP models that have Wireless ePrint and AirPrint. However it's not clear whether they are also Google Cloud Print ready (which would be useful for gmail and cloud computing). It's also not clear whether they come with inks or whether they have to be purchased separately.

HP printers now come with "setup " cartridges -IE with only a little ink. Its how they make their money - sell cheap printers and expensive cartrdges. But you can get very cheap clone cartridges for most Printers. I suppose cars dont always come with a full tank of petrol so there is a precedent.

    • Hi, The seller has already been restricted from making posts on the forum (including in the For Sale board) straight after you initially reported this. They do however still have access to their private messages so that they can contact you. If its clear that they have no intention of resolving then they will be permanently banned.   I would recommend making contact with the company as you will require evidence that the item is stolen if you plan to report this to the police. If so there is useful information on the Citizen's Advice website: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/if-you-think-youve-bought-stolen-goods
