Could anyone recommend a roofer please

It's fairly urgent, quite a bad leak in my child's bedroom caused by the rain last week.

I've had two roofers out already. One of them said he fixed it but the next time it rained the leak was even worse and water was running down the walls.

The other one said it was a small job and could see the hole where the water was coming in. He said he would come round last week but now isn't responding to phone calls or messages.

I've also been trying to get hold of another roofer but they also aren't returning calls. I understand it's a busy time of year for this particular work but the roof will need replacing next year anyway so there is the potential of a big job here for the right person as well.

Any recommendations of reliable, competent roofers gratefully received!

I think a message on the forum is relevant actually! We really struggled to find anyone to do our job, which is also a bit of minor flashing. People didn't bother replying or refused the job.. it was very frustratring. Have finally got someone to come out tomorrow though so will let you know

I recommend Norwood Roofing. We've had a leak in our roof fixed (during the torrential rain period, he came really fast) and another time a downpipe and they've been reliable, done a really good job (guaranteed) for a good price - really nice people too. David's number is 0741 2000 214

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
