Hello all. I'm starting a new job in just over a week's time in Marylebone and wonder if there is anyone who travels there regularly and has a quick route?

I'm on the 12 route (Barry Road) so can obviously catch a bus to Oxford Circus/Regent Street and walk but that but can take quite a while. Other options I've thought of are bus to Elephant & Castle and Bakerloo line up to Regent's Park or train to London Bridge and Jubilee to Baker Street. Has any one got any opinions on these or have any other tried and tested routes?

Many thanks. SW.

I used to work in Bond Street/Marylebone area and got the train to LB then jubilee to Bond Street - I found that the quickest. You could alway try one day getting the train to LB then switching platforms to get train to Charing cross then hop on the Bakerloo line but that's a bit of a faff.

On the way home I used to walk to victoria then get the 185 as I preferred it to being in someone's armpit on the tube, so maybe you could do something similar with the 12.

I used to work at Baker Street. Personally I'd do the train to LB (actually quite reliable) and then the Jub to Baker Street (my old route). Only you'll need to walk (only 8-10 minutes) or 5 minutes on the bus or switch to the Bakerloo line (depends where in Marylebone you actually need to get to).

Good luck in your new job!

I do it fairly regularly, as I work in Blanford Street

I take my Brompton bike and train it into Victoria, then cycle up through Hyde Park

Or if it's a bit grim i'll get on the bus just outside the station and hop off/cycle from just past Marble Arch

I also use Damon B's route + bike

The bike bit makes it much more fun

Nette(tu)

Thanks Sophie, Damon and Nette, much appreciated. I'll give all routes a go and find the quickest one. The cycling option is tempting but I'd have to buy a bike and build my confidence up good and proper to ride in London - I'm a bit of a wimp! Perhaps a new challenge has been set!

    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
