Made the mistake of going there on opening night last night, didn't expect it to be so busy! Queues to get in do we gave up and went to bar story, also rammed so we tried Montpellier, also rammed! Felt like we were in Shoreditch with all the hipsters milling about, who knew peckhcm was so trendy. Does anyone know if you can go up to franks (well the top floor of the carpark) during the daytime? I would like to see the view.

Thanks

See bloonoo, I think you have made the criminal error of failing to follow my posts avidly enough. If you had, you would have read that Peckham has recently been cited as more scenester even than Dalston (and certainly much more so than Shoreditch, which tends to resemble Lordship Lane these days, with a Sunday morning stroll requiring careful dodging of puddles of blow-ins' vomit, still reeking of white trainer).

hang on but no-one pays to sit on the top floor of the car park, do they? or have I been too early and missed a late nite entry fee?

the view is absolutely fantastic and last time there was an art exhibition that you could look at as you wandered around the car park sipping negroni, as you do.

I went early this evening - crowd start to grow from 7.00 pm. Was good - food & drink reasonably priced, crowd an eclectic mix - signalling Peckham's imminent takeover of the Hoxton / Shoreditch / Spitalfield areas as trendy Bo Ho arty central. Views of London great - art installations left me cold.

Will probably return to people watch and take in the view over quiet pint or two.

    • These very anti social fireworks went on for at least fifteen years and were unbearable for both humans and pets.    Was extremely relieved that they moved a couple of years ago.  Never experienced such close proximity loud fireworks before.   But the ones that go off in the middle of the night are also very upsetting and annoying.
    • Not they've gone. Everything has been ripped out. No sign of anyone new yet.
    • The frequency of fireworks seems to be increasing. If revellers selected the low noise variety that would help, but the trend seems to be the louder the better. I do not think sensitivity to stimuli is the same as timidity. Unexpected, extremely loud bangs and unusual noises will startle most of us. Humans, unlike other animals, have the luxury of knowing what fireworks are and what the noise represents. Some animals do learn to cope but many do not. It could be their hearing is not as sensitive. We should not forget that many animals, including cats and dogs have hearing that is much more developed than ours.
