Is there a thread about this already? For one tiny bit of roadworks I can?t believe the chaos.

queues from lordship lane end to the lights by Townley road with the much quieter Townley road traffic given equal time to EDG on the green light -when only about about four Cars going through in that time, The queue to get through the roadworks made worse by a busy zebra crossing that should instead be on a coordinated pedestrian light. Traffic on green held up by zebra so few cars get through when it?s their turn.

Please, please switch of engines in queuing traffic.

This road already has illegal levels of pollution from the traffic without the additional fumes from so many cars idling away sitting in the queue going nowhere.

Interestingly pollution can be worse inside the car, upto 3 times especially when sat in heavy traffic pulling in the fumes from the exhaust infront. Experts refer to it as ?sitting inside a toxic box? 🤢

The roadworks have gone today so for now it?s fine. However, would reiterate what bels123 said above. If you are waiting in traffic for more than a few seconds, please do switch your engines off for your own sake and everyone else?s!

    • Found Chilli & Garlic to be pretty tasty and very good value, a really welcome addition amongst the sourdough, bakeries and pub fare. Personally, I prefer smaller sized Falafel, for more crunch and lightness. And I found overall, everything lacking a bit of punch. More Chilli and Garlic, and pickles please! Maybe that’s just what I’m accustomed to.  Highly recommend the falafel on Northcross Road market - amazing value, really excellent falafel, and you can really taste the care that goes into the homemade fresh pickles, sauces & salads.  Having travelled extensively in the middle east & I find it a close match to the many falafel stands I have tried.
    • MSN is an aggregator. Not a news source   the source is a Nick Gutteridge article in the Telegraph so, closer to reform than BBC   (I would question BBC news reliability these days mind you) It would be difficult to describe gutteridge as objective.  But it would be easy to claim he is frequently wrong, bordering on bonkers   https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/n/nf-nj/nick-gutteridge/ There is no physical reality where, as we run out of fossil fuels and turn to whatever will replace them, where existing fossil fuels don’t become more expensive  not this country, not any country - you might see some short term ups and downs as politics plays its part - but to whine about your political enemies tackling the dwindling fossil fuels is both childish and playing with people’s lives
    • I popped in to have a chat with them and a look around after I'd eaten somewhere else so didn't sample anything, but they seemed to have plenty of staff so hopefully service won't be too slow! Planning to try soon.
