Before the 2006 World Cup, the Germans revolted against the corporate FIFA imposition of Budweiser and managed to get Bitburger instead. The British used to have a noble tradition of rioting over beer - maybe we should resurrect it?

They're owned by Carlsberg and Heineken now, so you are only going from Dutch lager to Dutch/Danish lager anyway.

I think is the amont of revenue paid per barrel the higher the alchol % the more tax there is also 20 shiliings.

How are you defining English beer, brewery location, ingredients, style? I doubt there are many that qualify on all of the above.

Well...Meantime is London?s second largest brewery after Fuller?s, so they could..

Well as I am not going to the Olympics so I do not care what beer they are selling or how much it costs.

I can buy a case of 12 Peronis for ?13.00 (Tescos) and watch the Olympics at home in the dry.

Or do something completely different..

I know Loz, was just drawing parallels to the Murray effect. British when winning, Scottish when not.

Anyway...back on topic, there is no Scottish, Welsh or N Irish beer at the Olympics.
