I still can't understand what you're trying to say Pagoda - "But there is provision for childminders within the community".

What sort of provision? None in my area really except for an hour or two a week. What are we supposed to do then? I've been to (and been excluded from) groups in the past for being a childminder, so doing what Nanny Penny is doing is good news.

If you have the confidence and experience to set up a group then surely it's benefitting everybody?

some are some arnt

one of the many good reasons i chose

a childminder and not a nursery after visiting may

was that the children are taken out every day by most dedicated childminders

its important that our littleones are interacting with the outside world

learnlng of the enviroment around them

my minder goes to lots of groups, libary, farms, musiums, as well as all care and activities

within a home inviroment

when i pick her up she's full of chat about her day most of the time wanting to stay more

they are aways comming up with more ideas for the children

THANKS NANNY PENNY AND TOYAN your both a treasure

I have no problems with the group being set up and like I said in my previous post I wish success for the furture.

I was just surprised that it was said that one of the reason was thier wasn't many activitie for childminders to do in the 1/2 terms/6 weeks

I also talked about having a good balance inside and outside of home and learning about your outside environment.

I know thier are somethings you cannot provide in the home and thats why you need to experience what is happening in the wider world.

    • I'm thinking of going to India at Christmas and it's been 18 years since I last visited. So long ago, I can hardly remember where I went (I was there for 8 weeks...). Has anyone been to the South recently? I'm thinking Kerala, as we fancy some beach action.
    • If it's not bolted down it gets stolen, terrible. Some people have no respect for others property.  Hope you reported it to the Police and got a crime reference number, what did they say?
    • Try pavement, this is London, not the US. The Mayor increased his proportion of council tax in 2025/26 to pay for "more" haha PC's but my understanding is they were cut not increased. A rouse by the Mayor to take more and give nothing in return.  Troubling and far too common here.  Just be careful where you get it out
    • Just saw one of them on lordship lane scanning the area on the sidewalks in a hood and mask on an e-bike.  I just pointed at them pretending that I was on the phone with the cops and he darted away.  Absolute scum. Hard problem to solve. I'm hopeful there are strategies in place to keep our community safe for this but it's troubling.
