A couple of French/English families are planning to meet soon for coffee and would like to extend the invite to others. If you would like to come along and meet other French speaking parents and children, or just chew the fat about all things French, then please feel free to join us at The Victoria Inn on Friday 3rd August at 11am.

A bientot!

Hi,

We currently have a 9 month old and 15 month old. I am guessing it will be mostly kids under school age given the timing, but there is no age limit. I guess it's as much for the parents as the kids :).

Does that help? Would be great to see you there.

Hi, Have you found a French playgroup since your last post? I go to a lovely playgroup for French speaking and bilingual families called Cadet Rousselle . It meets every Mondays at the West Norwood One O'Clock club (Salters Hill SE19) from 9.45 to 11.45. The session includes arts and crafts activities, songs and story telling in French and a baby corner. I like the moms who go there, friendly and down to earth. Here is their website: www.cadetrousselle.co.uk

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
