  1. The Belham School is campaigning to widen the neighbouring pavement and move a bus-stop to create better access, and higher levels of safety for pedestrians (it's already chocca at drop-off and pick-up, and the school is not even close to full capacity yet). It'd be great if people could sign the petition here: https://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/499/759/650/ to support the request about this to Southwark Council. Many thanks.
  2. I just wanted to recommend Deborah Warden, who practices acupuncture at the Goose Green clinic. I first went to her a month ago to help deal with long term stress, back and tummy problems. I?d never had acupuncture before but was open-minded and hopeful about what it might do. I?ve just had my fourth session and I can?t speak highly enough of the experience. At the first session she listened attentively (at some length!) to what was wrong, clearly and gently introduced me to the practice of acupuncture, and explained how she might be able to help. She combined acupuncture with moxibustion and it was incredibly relaxing, with no pain at all during the treatment. I left feeling transformed - more relaxed, energised, and in less discomfort. The subsequent treatments have built on the first, and I can honestly say that I feel better than I have in months. Whilst there are various factors that have contributed to this, I am convinced that I can thank Deborah for significantly improving all three of my main problems and I'll now see her monthly for ?maintenance?. You can reach Deborah on 07834 767788 or by email at [email protected]
  3. Hello, I don't think it is your cat - this was a bigger tabby with much more grey. I do hope you find yours soon. For anyone else reading this post, the cat has now gone although the box is still there (I went back as I was going to follow up the suggestion to take it to see if it was chipped). It may have been found by its owner, but I fear it may have been a fox. To anyone else missing beloved cats, I hope they find their way home soon.
  4. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I took a shortcut through the light industrial estate accessed from Lyndhurst Way and Chadwick Road yesterday and sadly saw a dead grey/brown tabby cat in a cardboard box close to the Lyndhurst entrance. I'm sure its owners would want to know where it is.
  5. I'm also surprised to hear this (similarly without all the facts, though) - I see Bellenden achieved a satisfactory grade in its last OFSTED, whilst Dulwich Hamlet was awarded outstanding. Why would Southwark choose to expand a school which is not attaining a 'good' rating at the very least, rather than one which is successfully delivering an outstanding environment for its children? It would make more sense for the former to be supported to nurture its current size of cohort rather than stretching it unsustainably, and the latter (or a similar alternative) given a chance to expand?
  6. Hello, And another late-comer... I had my second (a little girl to join my toddler boy) in early January and now that I'm out of the newborn fog (ish!) I'm keen to get out and about again with my double buggy (fondly known as the tractor). It would be lovely to meet some more local mummies and babies. I've requested to join the FB group and hope to meet some of you soon, Bella
  7. Hello Franco/Anglo folk - we have just arrived at the Victoria and it's shut! So we've relocated to the back of Andersons cafe just a couple of doors down. Hope you find us! Bella
