Prep your little lions for a stress-free evening! 🐱

I think we can all agree that the Lost & Found section consists mainly of cats going missing.

So I figured this heads up was needed...

50% of cats & dogs suffer from firework stress.

Statistically more cats & dogs are reported to go missing on occassions like this more than any other night in the year.

This is why it is so important to always have proper identification tags, with up-to-date contact information.

Microchipping is strongly recommended.

By now hopefully, you'll have let your little lions out earlier in the day, but now is the time to call them back in & keep them housebound for the rest of the night {this is a really good habit to have all-year-round too. I personally don't lock up for bed without knowing my boys are safe & settled in}. Secure doors & windows, close the curtains & give them easy access to a hiding place. Alternaitvely, your little lion might just prefer to get snuggled up with you. Play some music, put on Netflix, provide some form of sound to drown out that of the entertainment taking place outside. Animals sense stress & anxiety so stay calm & they will feed off of your energy.

Like you we always keep ours in at night, RSPCA also advise.. we were out Nye, but came home to find one of ours was so spooked by something they had smashed through the lock on the catflap, we couldn't find her for ages, then eventually she turned up at 5am, had obviously been hiding somewhere.. when it was light found the burnt out casing of a rather large firework/rocket in our back garden.. she has never done this before and must have exerted a lot of force to push through lock, and probably got spooked by noise thinking it was in house.

    • Thank you for the feedback! Helps to see we're not alone. The only good experience we had was Modern House. Anyone tried Strike/Purple Bricks/Yopa? How did it go? Anything to be mindful of?
    • Best experience we had was with Modern House. The rest of the agents around the area are appalling.... They just want their commission and not interested in getting a good deal. You'd be lucky if they pick up the phone...
    • I’d like to echo the positive comments about Trelco. I discovered that the stopcock on the rising main was leaking and was damaging the flooring in the utility room. Not having seen this thread, or any reviews for that matter,  I picked Trelco  as it was the nearest to me. It was a gamble but goodness it paid off. James was responsive and clear in what he offered. His colleague Andy replaced the offending stopcock and put in a lever valve to allow me to shut off the water easily when I go away. He did a great job, neat and tidy, he was cheerful, friendly and professional. All this within a day of contacting them. Although not an emergency it needed resolution quickly. The price charged was very reasonable indeed, especially considering the quality of the service. I am so pleased to have found such an excellent plumber.
