  1. The booking system is like the hunger games for swimming, I use the app and you have to make sure you get on it at the right time to get a space, and do it at least 5 days ahead to get a chance if lane swimming (10 people for each of the lanes, slow medium and fast) There's a waiting list if you can't get on, but I've never got a space while on it.. totally confusing as, when Ive managed to get a slot and it says on the website the lanes are full with some on the wait list, i get in the pool to find hardly anyone there, one day there was just three of us, when the website said it was full 🤷‍♂️
  2. The Palmerston is, we went last year & had a fab time, had a vegan roast 👍
  3. It was my partners birthday last week …& yesterday he got some post including a birthday card sent on his birthday from last year ..exactly a year late ..was a big birthday last year & had that age on it ..& the post mark said it was sent October 2022 🤷‍♂️

  7. i remember my old pussy was constantly thirsty
  8. We are still getting xmas cards in dibs and drabs, 3 today 15th Jan 😬
  9. Would quite like the traffic measured going up and down Ashbourne grove, seems to be the new exit and entry area for people driving that live on Melbourne grove now the EDG entrance is closed... ok for them to drive on others roads but not for anyone to drive on theirs it seems. Also looks like traffic drive up Ashbourne now and along Melbourne to exit further up onto lordship lane opposite the school to avoid traffic further down Lordship lane near the roundabout end Noticed traffic measuring system on Melbourne, bit not on Ashbourne or Chesterfield etc, which are now being used more as cut thoughts to bypass lordship lanes more congested end.
  10. Just received xmas cards from family posted 5th december in Marlow, same happened with birthday cards, two weeks late. Also received hospital letter today posted the 6th
  11. Forest hill road seems to have the best lights this year
  12. If its a proven case the driver was at fault try and get your self a decent lawyer .. I did after I was hit by a van not giving way at a junction on the south circular, two years ago (he was charged by police) I hired a lawyer .. through the law society so I didn't get an ambulance chaser firm. and I was able to access private medical care, including a physiotherapist and physiological help for PTSD and a live changing injury which has left me walking with a stick, also helped me to get cover for time off work due to initial injury and time off for two operations (have another one in a weeks done privately) Case still ongoing, took me a year to finally get back on my bike, still apprehensive though, but I was very physical active before and needed to get my exercise routine back to some extent to help with my injury. Hope you recover quickly and there are no long term effects.
  13. Oh well someone decided to lob a hand sized lump of concrete through the front bedroom window at our house on Ashbourne grove last night. Luckily my 78 yr old mother in law wasn?t sleeping in there last night. We were watching TV downstairs & the noise made us Jump out of our skins. Was witnessed by a neighbour who shouted after them. We have no idea why, we are on good terms with all our neighbours. Might be wrong address, or someone doesn?t like a gay couple living here (tho we have never experienced any sort of homophobia around here before) . So if anyone spotted a youth with green track suit bottoms on who ran off towards Melbourne at around 11pm, get in touch. We spoke to police who gave us a crime number & said to report if anything else happens.
  14. there was a burst water main last week, cycled through a rapid flowing river as it gushed out a hole in the road, an inconvenience, but works necessary it looks like.
  15. I Hope they weren't badly injured ? I received life changing injuries from when a van pulled out of a junction where the driver didn't look, as I was passing on my bike..Luckily I had witnesses, and driver was charged with driving without due care and attention. If your friend has to have time off work due to injury, they need to get a lawyer ( I got mine off the law society website to avoid ambulance chasers, and got a local firm) They could be entitled to claim any loss of earnings or for medical help, or repairs to damage of their bike... Hopefully the driver is found and charged, and you find witnesses, as this helps a lot. Hopefully though they are ok and don't need any of the above
  16. Live Ashbourne and have sat out in the garden most evenings with a cuppa, and definitely not heard it, been quite quiet ... though we do have a neighbour who plays music a bit loud sometimes, whilst sitting in the garden, doesn't bother me as i quite like it and listened to it myself. Went the the 1st year Gala opened and quite enjoyed it. Saw lots of well behaved young people heading to the festival during the days over this weekend from Peckham rye station, all in their festival gear and looking happy, nice to see after past year and a half. I haven't been since the 1st year as I felt really old though compared to others, just wanted to see what it was like. I get though that people living right by it might have issues. Mark
  17. sadly they probably won't contact you, had the same thing a few years ago when someone left a note saying they are sorry they clipped my wing mirror (which was broken) they left a number that didn't work. Probably means they were just being seen leaving a note in case they thought they were spotted by someone. Might be worth appealing to see if anyone witnessed it, they might have, and seen who ever did it write a note, thinking it was being sorted.
  18. I have started cycling again nervously after being injured by a van pulling out of a junction without looking at the end of 2019 on the south circular, while I was cycling to work (I have permanent damage now too)...And I have found the roads I used to cycle on horrendous, especially Lordship lane, you just feel like you are surrounded by traffic and fumes, with frustrated drivers at the wheel (recipe for disaster as I have found out) Yes there are a few quiet side streets, but None are on my route to work, and if they are youre on them for about half a minute.... I see nothing here from my personal experience thats benefiting commuting cyclists as claimed. maybe other people have a different experience, but its not mine.
  19. we've used your food a few times and loved it, will definitely have a look at your page
  20. I ordered one from amazon .... never again 🙃😂
  21. Yes WE had all the plans and measurements to show it wa well within planning guidelines, which we checked before it was built anyway. good luck, hope it all works out for you in the end.
  22. we built something similar well within planning guidelines, we even consulted neighbours who's boundary backs onto it who were fine, its mainly used as a quiet place and holds exercise equipment i use to help me with a permanent disability after a serious road accident awhile ago ...and after a year someone (we have no idea who) reported us to the council with allegation we broke planning rules, which we were able to prove we hadn't as we had checked everything before hand... as it only blocks light out in our garden no one elses and doesn't intrude and is no where near any buildings, we are at a lost to think who made the complaint, we have very good relations with our neighbours as well. Will sign as I know how distressing something like this can be ... good luck.
  23. I received a Job alert recently for a sous chef for a new opening of a "high end" steak and BBQ restaurant in Dulwich. (didn't say if it was in east Dulwich or the Village, or possibly west)... it was described as being an intimate 50 cover space, no name given as through an agency
  24. Ah yes we were there that day, & saw you in the store swearing and shouting abuse at staff, you may have a valid point, but lost the moral high ground with the way you were shouting and swearing at staff, REALLY loudly.
  25. Hi I am looking for someone who can help me pick up a heavy treadmill machine from a friends near the Tesco on the old kent road, man with a van type of thing, possibly need two people with weight of machine ... I can't help myself as I have disabling injury, after being hit while cycling a year ago (the machine is to help with my physiotherapy) Any recommendations appreciated. Forgot to add that the machine can fold and has wheels on one end to help manoeuvre it, also my friend will make sure pick up is within Covid rules, & pick up will be social distanced with masks, and the machine is near the entrance. drop off at Ed is to a cabin in the garden via a side entrance, so no need to come into the house.
