I posted a notice re: starting a small social group hoping to meet local people who have similar interests as I do: going out to cinema, theatre events etc ... and maybe meeting up up afterwards and have a drink or two ..and more interesting still: discuss our thoughts and feelings about the film or play.

I am very new to East Dulwich Forum and don't seem to have thoroughly acquainted myself with the workings of the site (worse still I may very well be a digital moron!)). I mistakenly sent a few messages thinking I had only three replies only to find out I had quite a few more. I am thoroughly delighted but wished I had looked at the right section of EDF.

I apologise for misleading emails and also for not replying sooner - I've been away over New Year... So I am now going to organise myself and make a list of films and other events that seem 'interesting', invite suggestions and get in touch with everyone. I can't seem to find a way to reach everyone with one message. Hence this post. Any help would be most appreciated.

I think the explanation is in the post above, a new user and not a particularly 'savvy' one.

No big deal.

Hopefully I'm on your list Swadesh!

If you do that, why not ask admin to remove this new thread so as to not confuse folk! Just go to the first message up top and 'report this message' and tell admin that's what you want to do, go back to the original?

    • Hi Han92-ED, Have you taken a look at the Dulwich Park Runners?   They're super inclusive and cater for all levels and are very sociable. https://www.dulwichparkrunners.co.uk
    • Is it still operated by the Post Office though. I took this photo of a poster in the Post Office in September announcing the running of LL Post Office would soon pass to a franchisee ZCO Limited. Is the current chaos a result of that?
    • I think it’s depends when you go in as well. I’ve been in a few times in the last month and I haven’t had to wait more than 10 minutes.
    • Hey all 👋 I’m fairly new to running and have (perhaps ambitiously!) signed myself up for a half marathon later this year. I’d love to find a few others who are also just starting out and fancy running together in a relaxed, non-intimidating way.  The idea would be a very low-key, beginner-friendly run club — lots of jogging, walking breaks totally welcome, zero pressure on pace or distance. I’m particularly keen to create a small, supportive group for women who might feel more comfortable running as part of a group, especially around the park. I was thinking of doing gentle runs around Peckham Rye Park to start with. If that sounds like something you’d be up for, give me a shout — would be lovely to see if there’s enough interest to get something going 😊
