Forest Hill Road Surgery - closed

Has anyone else tried phoning Forest Hill Road Surgery today? Message keeps saying it's closed.

It seems to be closed every Thursday from 1pm, was the same a couple weeks ago.

I called about 18 months ago on a Thursday afternoon and was automatically put through to SELDOC. I was later told by FHRGP that they are closed every Thursday afternoon for training.

Maybe I have never needed to phone on a Thursday! Although message says "We are closed, open Monday to Friday 8am - 6.30pm. Nothing about being closed Thurs pm. Refers you to 111 for emergencies

Their website says they are open 8am to 6.30pm Mon to Fri! I believe Thurs afternoon is set aside for staff training but didn't think that meant you couldn't phone and make an appointment. If this is the case, then it is totally unacceptable. The surgery should be run for the wellbeing of the patients and not the convenience of the staff. Unless there is a constant turnover of staff, exactly how much training is actually needed.

All GP surgeries in Southwark have SELDOC cover to allow them to close for training on the 3rd Thursday afternoon of each month.

I had an appointment with a physiotherapist today. I can reassure you all that it is open and hasn't suffered the same fate as much of the high street. But perhaps they could open part of it as a kebab shop or for cashing cheques. There's is not enough room for a hand car wash.
