There was an accident Saturday night (25/1/20), about 1am, with a car speeding down Lordship Lane opposite the church on the corner of Goodrich Road. A Peugeot was shunted about 5 yards. I am aware of at least two other similar accidents between the library and Townley Road in the last year, do any Forum users know of similar incidents? Starting to wonder if we need to actively do something.

The only thing that would work would be to fine speeding cars a LOT of money and slap on the points- the 20mph is another joke...

Yes, I know what you mean about the Goodrich turning. I don?t think there are any camera?s on the stretch from the library to say the school at the bottom of the hill. Lordship and Townley also has its moments and close misses. Anyone know of any accidents with parked cars?

Another one happened outside my house just before Christmas. He hit 2 parked cars (huge damage to at least one of these). The guy was apparently 5 x over the drink drive limit and driving without insurance. It?s the second crash to happen right outside my house in a year - someone flipped their car last year. They can?t put speed bumps as it?s en route to Kings but cameras would be great!
There is I feel a need for a pedestrian crossing on Lordship Lane near Milo Road. Lots of people including school kids and older people cross there. The traffic comes very fast up the hill from the Townley Road Junction towards the library.

    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
    • It was my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn was embarrassed by his brother and had distanced himself from his brother's views. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Why on earth should "the overall view of that family inform Jeremy's response to the pandemic"? What exactly are you basing that assumption on?
    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
