You've got me all wrong! I'm like you: I gave up on all new music around the time of 'Screamadelica'.

I do listen to some new music, but it's usually stuff that is vaguely reminiscent of music from my formative years.

While I largely agree with the criticism of the music offering, it is to be expected. It's firmly aimed at a middle-class, suburban family type of demographic. You can hardly expect cutting edge underground music.

You can imagine the hysterics if a Grime/Drill music festival rocked up instead. Plans made to board up homes, the cleaner/au pair told to take the long weekend off, flights booked to Tuscany, quicker than you can say Vossi Bop...
