Hi ladies,

My ds is 5mnths next week and he has since birth has red and pink creases around neck and underarms. I have seen the gp a few times and swabs have been taken - all ok.

He did have terrible thrush after birth but that has now cleared (gp has also confirmed it has cleared).

The white parts associated with thrush has gone but the pink/ red remain. It looks so sore.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to treat?

I am very gentle with the areas, ensures it is dried properly after his evening bath by gently patting with a fresh clean muslin every night so the area is clean and as dry as possible.

Any ideas for creams?

I have found green baby lavender salve is very good for nappy rash etc

Though it sounds so nasty I am a bit surprised the gp isn't treating it - in my experience, if anything they are a bit hung ho even with a mild steroid/antibiotic or steroid/ anti fungal

If it is tiny red shiny raw crease marks, when

My children have had that, thrush cream seems to help

Little L has had that on her neck folds so many times! Looks so sore when it flares up. I used sudocream which helped a bit but the best cream I used recently was arnicare, it made it much better within 24 hours (says it's for bruises but seemed to do job) x

    • Yes, it would be great to see them nationalised. Along with the other water companies they seem to have a great business model: -submit a 5 year plan to the regulator asking for yearly price increases to cover the cost of improving the infrastructure and get them to approve it - carry on paying handsome dividends to shareholders and eye watering salaries to senior executives  - fail to achieve the infrastructure targets at the end of the five years, make some excuses and draw up the next plan Magic!

Agree with other comments that it is best to talk to lots of people.  Also, (not particularly related to the above agent), I wish I had read the reviews a lot more, rather than relying on numbers.  Depending on whether you are renting, letting, selling or buying the reviews often differ a lot depending on the relationship you have with the agent and it is worth checking whether the good/bad reviews match your situation.
