We are looking to find places for our children at Judith Kerr Primary for the 2020-2021 school year. Does anyone know how and when they assign any open spaces for the 2020-2021 school year? We are moving from the US so unfamiliar with how it all works and eager to secure a place as soon as we can, if possible. We have called and emailed the school but to no avail so trying other avenues. Thanks in advance for your help.

Maybe try through Southwark?

In the higher years(age 9-11) I reckon you're more likely to get a place. I think the classes are (more) full lower down, but good luck. Families do tend to move away fairly often, so places will/should come up.

I would suggest contacting Southwark. You may not get an immediate response as Secondary school allocations came out last night. [email protected]

If applying under the distance rather than lottery criteria, you would need to have moved into the area. If one child secures a place, then any siblings would go higher in the waiting list. Your likelihood of securing places for your children depends on where you move to and the school year. Places tend to come up more frequently over the school summer holiday than at other times. You always have the ability to appeal. You are less likely to win an appeal for years reception to year 2 due to the tighter rules on pupil numbers for infant classes. If you have special reasons for wanting this school over others, that helps an appeal eg your children are German speakers.

    • In case anyone is renovating or stripping out an old kitchen, I am looking for a base kitchen unit or carcass to house an oven for a temporary set up kitchen.   Also looking for a run of worktop at least 180 cm long if anyone is disposing of something like this, I would be happy to collect.   thanks   Mila
    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
