Building firm wanted for rainy day project

Recommended Posts

This is a small job. I need a structural wall removed in my East Dulwich house. It?s a simple job, with nibs either side, steel required and perhaps slight strengthening of nib foundations. We have plans from a structural engineer that need adhered to and building control to comply with. I can be flexible within reason as to when the work is carried out. I?m expecting quotes around ?2k. If this sounds like you, get in touch with referrals.

Hello,

Yes we did get it done. Unfortunately I can?t recommend my builder as they were actually a friends builder from far away that they convinced to come to London for us. It was ?2k all in and took 3 days. We were quoted 8k and 4K locally which really is a hiked up price. The process with the council was easy. You just contact them, they pop round and sign it off before plaster goes on and that?s it. Good luck. It?s messy so lots of sheets up.

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
    • This is a bit outside our area, but I'm posting in case .... Last night (Sat.20 Dec), around 10.30, we saw a cat hit by a car in St Norbert Road, SE4.  We took him to the out of hours vet in Beckenham, where they confirmed that he had died.  They will see if he is microchipped, and contact the owner if so.  They were very kind.   He was a lovely cat, grey and white.  He must have died very quickly.  So sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😞 The vet is Medivet in Beckenham, tel: 0208 650 2003.
