Acas
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Knotweed/insurance? I?m planning on selling my home and I had a small amount of knotweed treated by Southwark Council and it?s been eradicated however I?ve been told I?ll need to get an insurance to be able to sell. Having looked into it and contacted a few companies the insurance seems to be very expensive. Any advice much appreciated. mg583
Knotweed insurance policies are usually quite hard to come by, they are not included in any home insurance policy I've seen before.Usually for those without insurance the course of action would be to run a knotweed civil claim against the council for the loss in value of the land - as insurance, as you say, can be very expensive. keano77
The posts above don?t make sense to me. How would either course of action benefit a purchaser?
