To report this, call 0800 316 9800

Their website is rubbish, and if you try to use the "report a problem" button it just ends up giving you that number!

I just called. Apparently there was a burst 5 inch main last night, which they fixed around 1am, but then something else went wrong (probably another burst), so they had to shut the water off again at 6:40am

They can sign you up to get SMS alerts as things develop, if you want them. There's no ETA for a fix yet.

I asked about emergency supplies, but they only do that if the outage lasts more than 12 hours.

I have no idea whether more people reporting it will make them fix it any quicker or not.

Just had the same conversation with them as DigitalRonin save that the guy thought that engineers were out there working on it again, made sure to correct him. No timeframe apparently at the moment.

If you have old neighbours do go round and check if they are OK for the day.

Just got these texts from Thames Water:

> We are aware that there is a problem in your area and you may have no water or low pressure. We're really sorry, our team are in your area now

> We are aware of a burst water main in your area. Our team are carrying out urgent repairs and will get your water supply back to normal as quickly as possible.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
