Newmum2018
I'm renting out my flat.I've always used a highstreet agent that takes a significant commission every year. Can anyone recommend a different way? I always manage the property myself.TIA Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/251105-high-street-agent-or-other-options-to-rent-out-flat/ Share on other sites
dillmeadow
It's simple for private landlords to advertise on property portals via a third party agent - there are several. Tenant checking and contracting, EPC and gas safety certs etc can be arranged online as can viewings. PM for further info. tllm2
We recently tried Openrent to try and circumvent using a high street agency and must admit we didn't have a great experience. If it does work out, then its obviously a much cheaper option, but we found that calibre of the applicants/potential tenants was definitely lacking. We ended up referencing 2 (virtually 3) sets of tenants, who then either didn't pass or didn't even follow through with some of the information required. Perhaps it was naivety on our part, but it did mean losing time and money on a larger than was necessary gap between tenants.
