solicitors letter

Hi,

can anyone advice the on the cost of a solicitors letter as i need proof of seperation.

my son has claimed student finance the last 4 of years and as I am on low income he gets help. But this year they want evidence that i'm seperated. (have been single for 5 yrs)

I do not have a decree nisi and they are insisting on a solicitors letter as proof!

any suggestions or advice welcomed.

Maybe call a solicitor and ask how much it would cost ?

I called them, apperently unless the solicitor kmows me they wont write me a letter!!

Do you know an upstanding member of the community who could write you a letter?

I hate to suggest vicar after that opening sentence, but maybe a head teacher, JP, or doctor?

I could maybe try my Dr, so determined not to have to pay to prove i'm seperated.
