'Captain Tom Moore, is aiming to walk a hundred lengths of the back garden(which is 25m in length) before he is 100 years old at the end of the month.

So get behind Tom as he does 10 laps a day!

A bio on Tom:

Tom was born and brought up in Keighley, Yorkshire. He went to Keighley Grammar School and later completed an apprenticeship as a Civil Engineer. Tom went onto being enlisted in 8 DWR (145 RAC) at the beginning of the war, and in 1940 was selected for Officer training. He was later posted to 9DWR in India, and served and fought on the Arakan, went to Regiment to Sumatra after the Japanese surrender and returned to be Instructor at Armoured Fighting Vehicle School in Bovington.

NHS Charities Together is a collective experience representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS' official charities. NHS Charities give ?1million a day to the NHS, providing vital funds to help the NHS do more. So we here at Maytrix thought, what better cause to donate to at a time like this.

Maytrix is the company owned by Tom's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore and son-in-law, Colin Ingram. We set this page up, without any idea that it would become as highly visited as it is, and more of 'heartwarming' story for the local region. It is completely blown up, and we are so proud to be representing Tom and his 100th birthday walk for the NHS.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

    • James recently replaced a broken bathroom fan for us.  He was able to give us a reasonable quote quickly and was clear about any extra charges for him vs us supplying the new fan - a small detail but good to know in advance. I'd definitely look to use James again for future work.  07816 160353
    • We had what looked like a slipped tile on our rear roof, but turned out to be multiple broken tiles needed replacing (hidden by the flashing). This was probably a trivial job for Danny compared to the other projects on this thread, but he was quick to quote, able to fit our job in at short notice and did not charge extra for fixing the extra issues found. Danny also explained to me the issues he found with some previous work before he went ahead, so I had a good idea of exactly what was needed beyond the original slipped tile issue. I would 100% recommend Danny - 07943 673482.
    • Just posting this to bring the thread to the top so I can find it easily! I'm intending to do a plant centre crawl later in the week to get ideas. Thanks so much everybody for your suggestions. My very small garden is presently mostly taken up with a very beautiful rose (Seagull) which has single white flowers which  the bees love, then hips which the birds eat (I think)  but which has totally outgrown its space!
    • Yep this is the one. Looks like it's from the 30th of May to the 16th. Issued a week before going into practice.   So deep. So corrupt. We need to see how deep the rot goes. When we inevitibly found out what scoundrel is behind this unlawful travesty we should campaign for them to be beheaded. How dare they.
