Door to door salesman?

About an hour ago, a man with an Irish accent knocked at the door and flashed a tatty ID card which said something like

?Hawkers?. I said I was too busy so didn?t let him get started on his sales pitch and shut the door. I felt it looked like he was trying to look inside the house and round the side. I think this must be a scammer so worth others being wary. We?re near Tessa Jowell Health Centre.
