womanofdulwich
I just wondered if anyone has any top tips for curing this? I have in the past had chinese medicine/acupuncture/ physio/ cortisone injections. Cortisone injections are successful in the short-term but it keeps coming back. I have read that the more injections you have the less effective they are :( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25399-tennis-elbow-tendonitus/ Share on other sites
Peckhamgatecrasher
I've had this, v. painful. Found physio not that effective, best thing is complete rest. If you can keep your arm in a sling for a week or two, it's the quickest way to heal it (only my anecdotal experience) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25399-tennis-elbow-tendonitus/#findComment-573766 Share on other sites
dulwichgirl2
PGC, as with all musclo skeletal issues, it is invariably a matter of trial and error as to whether rest is better. Many people with tendonitis find it seizes up badly if they rest it. It is all vey unfair. There is an operation which can be very successful - a relative had it for both the elbow and shoulder I seem to think - and was pain free from about a week post op. I think the key was cutting tendons and it sounded quite nasty but worked v well. It can be agony absolute agony and the term tennis elbow really doesn't reflect how bad it can get so I do feel for sufferers. Marmora Man
I was referred for tennis elbow to the GP practice on Melbourne Grove, almost next to the pizza place & Scoop. There is a GP there that uses a form of Acupuncture - essentially "loosening" the knots in muscle groups that cause the tennis elbow. It worked for me.Apols cannot remember GP name or practice name - but no doubt someone on EDF can.
