Neither side has clean hands and the same applies historically. That is why I cannot fathom people taking sides, especially people with no connection to, or knowledge of, the region. It's incredibly complicated and, I fear, impossible to resolve.

Is anyone angry with Iran for their role in all of this? It may be too simplistic but the moment Saudi were taking steps to normalise relations with Israel, Hamas decided to launch their attack knowing full well the right wing Israeli government would use it to flatten Palestine. Innocent civilians on all sides are being caught in the mess - pawns in a much bigger geo-political battle.

off the top of my head and I stand to be corrected Saudi and it's relationship with the west (and of course the need for oil from the west) is a major factor.  In turn this goes back to the role of Britain as a relatively soft colonial power, the evolving role of the US post second world war, and western foreign policy ever since.  Europe in recent decades tending to be more pro Arab and US pro-Israel.  Trump and the abandoning of some of Clinton's good work in helping to tie Iran down in terms of their nuclear capability didn't help.  How much Trump begat Netanyahu I don't know, noting that he got in during the Biden administration, Netanyahu certainly favours a Republican victory.

Of course we can't unravel all of this.

Whilst the above was posted off the top of my head apart from a Google to spell Netanyahu's name and a sneaky look at his relationship with Trump the wiki entry on Iran/Saudi may be of interest.

Saudi could collapse one day like a pack of cards.  I'm certainly not going on holiday there no much how they try to persuade us otherwise.

Link to this?

I'll post Kuennsberg (spelling?) link from this morning later.

Here it is, worth a watch, like the lady from the Economist, Iran and Israel predictable hard line positions:

Iran states that Hammas and the like are resistance movements, spose you can say the same about the IRA (and UDA) during the troubles who also tortured and murdered sometimes indiscriminately.  (And Israel certainly does not have the moral high-ground....)

    • From what I have gathered from Bradbury Oak residents  I have spoken with, that at a meeting with RNIB earlier in the year, none of the residents were in favour of new build. There is the implication that rent rises are anticipated to help towards building costs. Rent is currently in the region of £300 pw - as with most sheltered housing (council and Housing Association), Since these rents also include maintenance charges, utility charges - Housing Benefit is only applicable to the actual 'rent element' per flat.
    • At the Dulwich Hill SNT meeting last night we spoke about Met. Engage. Dulwich Hill had signed up 185 households. Scheme  had been trialled in other parts of the country successfully and now the Met. Police are rolling it out, To the end of August, the Met Police had gathered 17,000 registrations which equites to 2% of households.
    • Personally, I think the death sentance should be brought back for anyone found to be harming animals.
    • When you dig into the site, there's an ancillary domain also involved in the system: neighbourhoodalert.co.uk;  and one pointed to by the latter as an example, stayintheknow.co.uk, which seems to have been set up by Lancashire.  All three long validated by Nominet and with same registrar.    metengage_etc_whois.txt
