Hi there,

My son has just got a place in year 4 so will be starting tomorrow. I'm going to get the sweatshirt and polo shirt from the school today but just wondering about how strict the grey trouser bit is... obviously they need to be grey but do they need to be specifically smart one? we have several grey pairs but they're possibly a bit casual (cargo style). Will this be a problem? and what of shoes? black trainers or a black converse or smart school shoes? There wasn't a school uniform at his last school so I'm new to this!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Although not previously very strict on uniform (this may change) it is expected that boys wear grey school trousers/shorts and black school shoes (there are many that are trainer alike if that's your preference) along with school logo polo shirt and jumber.

I hope your son enjoys Yr 4. Kids and parents are very friendly there so you should both feel very welcome.

Plain white polo shirts are fine from a supermarket

Shoes must be plain black though trainer style is fine

PE is navy shorts or track suit trousers and white t shirt

I send PE in a named bag and leave it there till half term

I send a navy fleece in the bag too just in case

Sweatshirts are available second hand via the PTA too

    • You don't need a gym to lose 10kg. Get a set of dumbbells and maybe a resistance band, find a HIIT channel you like on youtube and workout in your room, eat clean and go out every day. £115/mo is ridiculous. I thought they were supposed to be about £20 to £30 and most people give up come February anyway.
    • Point taken..I go 3-4 times a week and have done every week for several years however £115 a month is still a lot of money for many people (myself included) for a 'non essential' One can if one wishes excersise by running or Cycling, swimming once in a while. Gym membership IS a luxury...
    • Tawny owls are hooting in Dawsons Heights very near me. But very elusive birds. Sadly now on the amber list.  I have heard the owls every night for the past couple of weeks  It is good to know they are here. They are quite loud so I think they are very near. I have never seen an owl in the wild before and wish I  could  see them.
